Route Risk Assessment

Elevated Aspects are able to offer a unique service with regard to assessment of roads and road routes.

Using our mast photography system we are able to provide a "bird's eye view" of a particular section of road, be it a roundabout, junction, blind bend etc. We can position our equipment so that the photographs show the overall layout of the road, showing road markings, signs, obstacles that affect sight lines. The use of these aerial photographs help road traffic engineers obtain a better understanding of the road than just inspecting it from ground level. The use of our Elevated Photography system allows initial assessments to be made without the need for expensive surveys of the road.

In addition we can provide video of vehicle movements in and around the area being observed. This often shows up problems that are not visible during a site visit by an engineer - like vehicles having to edge out into oncoming vehicles at a junction, because their line of sight is obscured by lorries making a delivery or parked cars. The video can then be played back by engineers to identify any problems.
