Mast Photography Explained
Mast photography is the name given to photographs taken using a telescopic
mast. The mast has a stills or video camera attached to its top and is extended
to th erequiored height above ground level. We usually mount a digital camera on top of the mast and are able to control
everything from ground level. We can zoom the camera as well as pan and tiltit,
camera settings be adjusted (shutter speed, exposure, white balance etc.) and
you can preview the image on screen before it is taken - all with our feet still
on the ground. If required a video camera can be mounted on top of the mast
as well - ideal for traffic surveys. This system lends itself very well to a variety of different uses, most popular
one is Property Marketing. The photographs taken of property, creating "wow"
or "money" shots, th eproperties suddenly take on a whole new dimension. Here at Elevated Aspects we have two mast photography systems, a large 26m
telescopic mast mounted on a 4x4 Land Rover and a 15m mobile mast. Our set up
allows us to provide coverage almost anywhere in Northern Ireland be it outdoors
or indoors. Mast photogarphy is also known as Low Level Altitude Photography and Elevated
