Aerial Photography In Northern Ireland

Aerial Photography is normally undertaken from some distance from the ground, using either a helicopter or airplane. The photos taken do not contain much detail of the buildings or features on the ground. The buildings normally are shown as roofs. This type of photography is ideal if you want to show a general view of an area of some size, like fields or a village or town.

Elevated Aspects specialist in a new type of Aerial Photography called elevated photography or low altitude photography or as we call it Aerial Photography from the ground.

The system we use lends itself very nicely to a number of different uses, the most common of which is Property Marketing. The photographs taken of property, using this system take on a whole new dimension.

Here at Elevated Aspects we have two elevated photography systems, a large 26m telescopic mast mounted on a 4x4 Land Rover and a 15m mobile mast. This means we can provide coverage almost anywhere in Northern Ireland be it outdoors or indoors.

We usually mount a digital camera on top of the mast and control everything from ground level. We can pan and tilt the camera, zoom the camera, adjust the camera settings (exposure, shutter speed, white balance etc.) and even view the image on a screen all with our feet still on the ground. If required we can mount a video camera on top of the mast as well - ideal for traffic surveys.

Advantages of Elevated Photography Over Aerial Photography From Aircraft

Here is list of advantages of elevated photography over conventional aircraft Aerial Photography:

• Aerial photographs taken from aircraft are mainly flat looking with lots of roofs in the picture. Elevated photography eliminates the "mass of roofs" and incorporates elevations as well.
  
  
• Our type of photography can be undertaken at a fraction of the cost as conventional Aerial Photography, plus the photographs are more striking (In fact for the cost of hiring an helicopter for an hour, you could hire us for a whole day and get as many photographs as you want)..
  
  
• We can photograph in areas where there is restricted airspace.
  
  
• If your photograph is urgent, we could if our workload permits, photograph it the same day as your instruction - almost impossible with conventional Aerial Photography, which requires a degree of planning - flight plans, CAA approval for low flying, hiring of aircraft etc.
  
  
• Our system is eco friendly - producing a tiny fraction of the carbon emissions that an aircraft would produce.
  
  
• You can check the composition of each photograph before it is taken - something that is impossible with aircraft based Aerial Photography.
